how to knit sleeves

I wanted to set out some basic knitting in Knitters were first believed to have begun their craft in the first few centuries AD.

In lace knitting, the pattern is formed by making small, stable holes in the fabric, generally with yarn overs. There is a cylinder with slots for the needles in the machine and the needles have latches. Knitted garments became fashionable for the wealthy upper class, and silk gloves and stockings were highly prized.

Flat knitting, which is done on two straight needles, produces a length of cloth, while circular knitting, which is done on circular or double-pointed needles, produces a seamless tube. Flat knitting is usually used to knit flat pieces like scarves, blankets, afghans, and the backs and fronts of sweaters. A ribber is put on the machine, after the hem and purl stitches are made.

Knitting needles come in different sizes. Yarns need not be dyed; or they may be dyed one color, or a great variety of colors.

These few basic knitting instructions are the foundation of any project you will ever knit. You watch it come to life as you go, and little by little, your knitting becomes reality.
