knit companion bag

Knitting is no longer only for grandmothers or just any mothers. Learning how to knit is easy today with so many online resources.

Various closures for the garments, such as frogs and buttons can be added; usually buttonholes are knitted into the garment, rather than cut. The local yarn store will often provide assistance if you are having trouble with your pattern, regardless of whether you purchased your knitting supplies from them or a competitor. In fact what type of knitting yarn to use is one of the most important decisions a craftsperson has to make.

This is particularly good as the pattern will be correct for the yarn being used. In weaving, the threads are always straight, running parallel either lengthwise (warp threads) or crosswise (weft threads). Some people prefer circular needles because they are more comfortable to use and you can knit both in the round or back and forth like straight needles.

You'll be amazed at how much faster the second, third, and fourth version of the same pattern can be. Not only will this provide a nice social outlet, but your new knitting friends may also be able to help you locate and use new knitting patterns and new ideas for knitting projects.
